DESCRIPTION OF SPECIALTY  

Depending on the chosen field, a Beauty Care Specialist in Cosmetology acquires and applies field‑specific, scientifically substantiated cosmetology technologies and methods, cosmetics and cosmetic products, as well as consulting approaches. The specialist also provides other services of a cosmetic nature, while respecting the boundaries of his or her professional role and competence.

GOAL OF THE STUDY PROGRAM 

To prepare qualified first‑level professional higher education specialists in cosmetology, ensuring the acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the chosen profession. The program aims to develop responsible, creative, and professionally educated specialists in the beauty care industry who meet the requirements of the Latvian and European labor markets and enhance competitiveness in changing socio‑economic conditions. 

PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF STUDY PROGRAM 

The practical implementation of the study program takes place in the college’s training classrooms, as well as at practice bases in clinical settings, beauty care salons, rehabilitation centers, and aesthetic medicine institutions. 

During practical training, students strengthen their knowledge and skills under the guidance of lecturers, working directly with clients, assessing various skin condition issues, analyzing them, and finding appropriate solutions.

CAREER OPORTUNITIES 

Graduates of the college’s Beauty Care Specialist in Cosmetology program can work in healthcare institutions and beauty care salons, performing professional duties in line with their competencies. 

FURTHER STUDY OPPORTUNITIES 

Graduates of the “Esthetic Cosmetology” study program can continue their education in entrepreneurship and healthcare study programs, as well as to pursue bachelor’s studies at Utenos University of Applied Sciences in Lithuania.

P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia collaborates with a wide network of Erasmus+ program partners across Europe. While the college does not offer complete study programs in English, it provides diverse and up‑to‑date opportunities for clinical practice and practical training at hospitals, laboratories, within college simulation classes etc. Every year we welcome motivated Erasmus+ students from our partner institutions to gain valuable hands‑on experience with us.
