Inspiration. Experience. Mastery. – three truly powerful words that resonated throughout the 4th Massage Championship of the Nordic Countries, held on October 3–4 this year in Jūrmala, organized by P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia in cooperation with the International Massage Association (IMA), Denmark.

The organizers of the championship are pleased to confirm that both days of the event were held in a friendly atmosphere. The participants – both students and industry professionals – were motivated, had prepared thoroughly, and confidently competed in their chosen disciplines, which were evaluated by an international jury.

The opening of this year’s championship was especially notable, as the event was inaugurated by the Chairman of Jūrmala City Council, Gatis Truksnis, who, in his address, thanked the organizers, expressed special support for the event, and wished success to all participants. He also reminded everyone that, regardless of the results at the end of the day, each one is a winner, since the willingness to demonstrate one’s knowledge and skills is a testament to professionalism and growth.

During the opening events on both days, participants were greeted and wished success by Iveta Strode, Director of P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia, and Jeppe Tengbjerg, Founder and CEO of IMA. On Student Day, before the competition part began, participants were additionally encouraged by Terēze Beļokova, Leading Methodologist and Cosmetologist at Ltd. “GMT Beauty Trade,” while on the Professional Day, industry colleagues were addressed and supported by Rita Grīnfogele, Chairwoman of the Board of the Latvian Massage Association. A special video greeting for participants was organized by the Latvian Association of Physical Medicine.

This year’s championship program also included several activities in the format of masterclasses, which were highly appreciated by both participants and spectators. The brand GMT BEAUTY offered a masterclass titled “Skin Harmony in the Cold Season: Holistic Approaches and Massage Solutions for Renewal and Protection.” On both days, while the jury was compiling the results in the categories of Classical Massage and Freestyle Massage, IMA leading specialists/practitioners Jeppe Tengbjerg and Kinga Jenei shared their experience and conducted practical masterclasses with demonstrations of massage techniques.
